This STM has excellent stability, low noise and good vibration isolation, resulting in a reliable workhorse for UHV surface science. Its exceptionally open design also makes it ideal for use in conjuction with other surface analysis techniques.
Developed as the basis for our UHV STM, this eddy-current damped spring suspension stage provides remarkable vibration isolation. It can provide sufficient isolation to enable atomic resolution STM imaging without any additional vibration isolation stage (such as air-legs).
